Borestone Mountain
Borestone Mountain is a 30 min drive from our Sebec Shore Camp. Guides are available from the Outdoor Adventure Company for day trips.
The Audubon sanctuary encompasses 1,600 acres and is bordered on one side by the Appalachian Trail. The 3-mile summit climb offers a spectacular array of natural features, including old-growth forests, crystalline ponds, exposed mountain rocks, and sweeping views.
A trailside nature center located on the shore of Sunrise Pond includes interactive displays and information about the area’s natural and human history.
Hours: Dawn-dusk Memorial Day through the end of October. The Sanctuary gate opens at 8 a.m. Visitors must be off the trail when the gate closes at dusk.
Hiking fees help Maine Audubon maintain the trails at Borestone.
SANCTUARY FEES: Maine Audubon members as well as children under six hike free.

$2/nonmember students, seniors, and each participant from school and other groups (subject to change)
