Daniel Abbot
"the Father of Nashua" 1777-1853
Daniel Abbot, Harvard graduate and law practitioner moved to Dunstable in 1802 and quickly became a civic leader. He coined the name Nashua during a 1803 July 4th celebration held in the Indian Head Village, the developing area just north of the Main Street Bridge. He was a vital contributor to the birth and growth of industrialized Nashua.
