District 1 Schoolhouse

1775

This is one of the first schoolhouses from Nashua's great educational history. The third grade students of the Nashua public school system attend one full school day on site with historic learning activities typical of its period as recorded from our heritage.

The 1775 schoolhouse burned down and was rebuilt in 1841. Descriptions of the 1775 schoolhouse compare very similarly to the 1841 construction.

The building of today is a restored original from 1841. The King's Daughters Benevolent Association made the restorations in 1976 as a bicentennial project.
